A Pearl of Wisdom from the Sultan Muḥammad II

Sultan Muḥammad al-Fātiḥ advised his son:

خذ مني هذه العبرة حضرت هذه البلاد كنملة صغيرة فأعطاني الله تعالى هذه النعم الجليلة

“Take this lesson from me! I dwelled in these lands like a small ant. And thus, Allāh the Exalted bestowed these magnificent blessings upon me.”

(Samīr al-Muʾminīn, 21)
