A Pearl of Wisdom from ʿAlī b. Abī Ṭālib

ʿAlī b. Abī Ṭālib (Allāh be pleased with him) said:

الصبر من الإيمان بمنزلة الرأس من الجسد ولا جسد لمن لا رأس له ولا إيمان لمن لا صبر له

“Patience is a part of faith like how one’s head is a part of his body. There is no body for one who does not have a head. And there is no faith for one who does not have patience.”

(Iḥyāʾ ʿUlūm al-Dīn, 4:62)
