The Muṭālaʿah of Abū Jaʿfar al-Mahrī

Shaykh ʿAbd al-Faṭṭāḥ Abū Ghuddah cited the following from Qāḍī ʿIyāḍ regarding Abū Jaʿfar Aḥmad b. ʿAbd Allāh al-Mahrī:

من أهل العناية بالعلم وكان في الدراسة والمطالعة آية لا يكاد يسقط الكتاب من يده حتى عند طعامه

“He was from those who are diligent with knowledge. When it comes to studies and reading, he was an exemplar. It was rare for him to not have a book in his hand, even when he would sit to eat.”
