A Pearl of Wisdom from Fuḍayl b. ʿIyāḍ

Fuḍayl b. ʿIyāḍ said:

ترك العمل من أجل الناس رياء والعمل من أجل الناس شرك والإخلاص أن يعافيك الله منهما

“Not doing something because of people is showing off, doing something because of people is idolatry, and sincerity is that Allāh saves one from either.”
