A Pearl of Wisdom from Ibn al-Qayyim

Ibn al-Qayyim said:

قال لي شيخ الإسلام مرة ‏العوارض والمحن ‏هي كالحر والبرد فإذا علم العبد أنه لابد منهما ‏لم يغضب لوردهما

“Shaykh al-Islām once told me that tragedies and trials are like hot and cold [days]. The worshiper knows that they are necessary and does not become frustrated when they happen.”
