A Pearl of Wisdom from Ibn al-Jawzī

Ibn al-Jawzī said:

‏الصَّبْرُ عَلَى الطَّاعَةِ في الدُّنْيَا أَيْسَرُ مِنَ الصَّبْرِ عَلَى النَّارِ

“Having fortitude that keeps one obedient to God in this world is easier than having fortitude in Hell.”

(Baḥr al-Dumūʿ, 14)
