A Pearl of Wisdom from Muḥammad al-Bāqir

Muḥammad al-Bāqir said:

ما دخل قلب امرئ شيء من الكبر إلا نقص من عقله مثل ما دخله من ذلك قل أو كثر

“Arrogance does not enter into one’s heart except for that it diminishes one’s intellect to the extent that it entered, be it a little or a lot.”

(al-Mukhtār, 92)
