A Pearl of Wisdom from Zuhayr b. Abī Nuʿaym

A man once requested Zuhayr b. Abī Nuʿaym to give him advice. Zuhayr said:

احذر أن يأخذك الله وأنت على غفلة

“Be vigilant lest Allāh takes you whilst you’re in a state of heedlessness.”

(Ṣifat al-Ṣafwah, 2:229)
