A Pearl of Wisdom from ʿUmar b. al-Khaṭṭāb

ʿUmar b. al-Khaṭṭāb said:

لا تتكلم فيما لا يعنيك واعتزل عدوك واحذر صديقك إلا الأمين ولا أمين إلا من يخشى الله

“Do not speak regarding that which does not concern you. Avoid your enemy and be cautious regarding your friend, except for one is trustworthy. And no one is trustworthy except for one who fears Allāh.”
