A Pearl of Wisdom from Sufyān b. ʿUyaynah

Sufyān b. ʿUyaynah would say:

ليس من حب الدنيا طلبك ما لا بد منه

“One seeking what is necessary for them is different than having love for the world.”

(al-Mukhtār min Kalām al-Akhyār, 121)
