STUDENT LIFE
Working hard is important, but so is leisure time. DarusSalam provides students with amenities and opportunities to wind down after a long day of classes or following exam week.
SPORTS & RECREATION
DarusSalam offers outdoor recreation areas demarcated for both male and female students featuring two full outdoor basketball courts. Also located on campus are large fields used for soccer, volleyball, and other recreational activities. Indoors, we have four professional-grade ping-pong tables on which students play during breaks and after class. Additionally throughout the year, DarusSalam holds basketball and ping-pong tournaments for the youth.
Nearby, parks and trails are found for those who like to explore the outdoors. There are also gyms and fitness centers for those who wish to exercise and remain physically active. InshāAllah, our upcoming expansion project will include separate fitness centers for brothers and sisters.
FIELD TRIPS, CAMPING, AND YOUTH PROGRAMS
The Chicagoland area is home to a variety of attractions: landmarks, libraries, museums, and much more. Throughout the year, students take a break from their studies and partake in a class outing. Past outings have included visits to the Shedd Aquarium, trampoline parks, and nature preserves. After final exams, students go on an overnight camping trip, often in another state. There are also many overnight youth programs which take place at DarusSalam, where students play games, enjoy meals, and spend time with their teachers in a more relaxed setting.
STUDENT RESOURCE LIBRARY
Our students are encouraged to continue their pursuit of knowledge both inside and outside of the classroom. DarusSalam features two resource libraries which are home to thousands of books in Arabic, Urdu, and English. Our collection includes voluminous books of Qur'ānic exegesis, Prophetic tradition, jurisprudence, purification, history, and more.
