TUITION
Tuition payments for DarusSalam Seminary are managed via FACTS, a tuition management service used by schools across the nation. Once accepted, students will be provided with information on how to create an account and set up tuition. Students may pay tuition in monthly installments via ACH direct debit or credit card. DarusSalam Seminary does not accept tuition payment in the form of cash, PayPal, QuickPay, or any other payment method other than those listed above. Payments made via credit card are subject to a processing fee. Tuition details are listed below.

SCHOLARSHIPS
DarusSalam Foundation is pleased to offer need-based scholarships for students who are enrolled in our Tanwir Intensive program. These scholarships are funded by our generous donors and are dispersed to students who are zakat-eligible.
To apply for a scholarship, please complete the following steps:
- Create an account with FACTS if you do not already have one.
- If you/your child have attended another institution which uses FACTS, you may use the same login credentials.
- If you have already applied for financial aid for another institution, you may use the same application for DarusSalam.
- Follow the instructions on the screen to complete each section of the application.

On the left side of the application, you will see the progress of the application. After each section is complete you will see a green check icon.
- To the right of the form, you will see help text as you progress from field to field.

Errors or problems with the application will be noted with a red error icon, and you will be required to correct any errors before moving to another section.

- Submit the required documentation. Depending on your application some or all of the following documents may be required.
- Copy of your most recent IRS Federal Form 1040, 1040A or 1040-EZ U.S. Individual Income Tax Return. If applicant and co-applicant file separately, we require both tax returns for the same tax year.
- Copies of all your most recent W-2 Wage and Tax Statements for both the applicant and co-applicant.
- Please Note: If you are applying before you have received all the 2016 W-2 Wage and Tax Statements, please submit them as soon as they become available.
- Copies of all supporting tax schedules if you have income/loss from any of the following*:
- Business - (Form 1040 Line 12) send Schedule C or C-EZ and Form 4562 Depreciation and Amortization
- Farm - (Form 1040 Line 18) send Schedule F and Form 4562 Depreciation and Amortization
- Rental Property - (Form 1040 Line 17) send Schedule E (page 1)
- S-Corporation - (Form 1040 Line 17) send Schedule E (page 2), Form 1120S (5 pages), Schedule K-1 and Form 8825
- Partnership - (Form 1040 Line 17) send Schedule E (page 2), Form 1065 (5 pages), Schedule K-1 and Form 8825
- Estates and Trusts - (Form 1040 Line 17) send Schedule E (page 2), Form 1041 and Schedule K-1
- Copies of all supporting documentation for household Non-Taxable Income such as: Social Security Income, Welfare, Child Support, Food Stamps, Workers’ Compensation, and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF).
- Pay the application fee.
- There is a one-time non-refundable application fee of $30.00 per family. The same application can be applied to multiple institutions provided they use the FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment services.
- Schedule an interview with the financial aid committee.
- Once the above application is completed and all required forms are submitted, DarusSalam will contact you to schedule an interview.
- All financial aid applicants must go to through the interview process.
- Out-of-state applicants may schedule a phone interview.
- Sign the award letter and/or promissory note.
- If approved, applicants must sign the award letter indication the award amount.
- If applicable, applicants must also sign a promissory note indicating the method of repayment as discussed in the interview.
- Fill out the Self-Certification Form.
- If you are below the nisab (zakat qualifying threshold), initial the applicable statements, and sign the self certification (page 2 of the link above).
- The attached Appendix within the form is intended to be used as an aid in determining the applicant's eligibility to receive a need-based scholarship.
- Use the Appendix to help determine whether you meet the nisab (zakat qualifying threshold).
- Sign the Scholarship Adminstration Consent Form.
- This form confirms that you consent Masjid DarusSalam to:
- Receive zakat scholarship funds from the donor on your behalf
- Distribute, expend, and manage your zakat scholarship funds on your behalf*
- This form confirms that you consent Masjid DarusSalam to:
* IMPORTANT: If you file a tax return but do not have W-2 wages because you are self-employed, you will be required to submit a copy of your 2016 Federal Form 1040 Tax Return.

*This means that the applicant will not receive the scholarship funds directly. Rather, DarusSalam Foundation will receive and use those funds to cover the cost of the applicant's tuition as well as meal plans and living arrangements as necessary. This is to ensure that the scholarship is both received and dispersed as intended.
